Founded by Renato Domini in May 2021, Barbarossa is the realization of a lifelong dream. Renato, originally from Switzerland with Spanish and Italian heritage, combined his passion for travel and culinary arts to create a unique dining experience in Sanur. His extensive travels and appreciation for diverse cuisines have influenced the restaurant's menu, which features a blend of Mediterranean flavors, hearty Iberian soul food, and the best of French cuisine.
Building on the success of the Sanur location, Renato opened a second Barbarossa in May 2023 at Seminyak Square Shopping Mall. This new location offers more seating and a cozy outdoor area with a unique dining concept in a glamping tent. With its blend of local ingredients and Mediterranean flair, Barbarossa continues to be a favorite among both locals and visitors.
